FilmBook Media is a virtual scouting and licensing company based in Atlanta, Georgia. Our platform connects the film and marketing industry with unique properties, base camps, content and 3D models, worldwide. Properties are marketed for on-location shoots and/or “virtual capture” where a small team will collect the needed footage for a virtual production or application. Cinematic videos and photographs are licensed for traditional B-roll as well as backplate images for virtual production. 3D meshes and models also serve as backbones for plate creation and provide the data virtual effects departments need to work their magic. FilmBook works along side the production team to streamline the entire scouting and clearance process.

How We Do It
FilmBook has partnered with experts in their field to curate a distinctive portfolio of cinematic properties and content. Our collaborators have decades of experience working with visual effects departments and are ready to capture footage of properties per the productions specifications. Samples of their existing work — panoramic photographs, videos, and 3D meshes — are showcased on the platform and available for licensing. Productions receive the footage in a matter of days rather than waiting weeks or even months, delaying timelines. FilmBook saves productions money while providing 3D capture companies, photographers, videographers, property owners, and scouts an additional revenue source.
Why We Do It
FilmBook created the marketplace to provide the content needed in the evolving virtual arena as well as to streamline the existing scouting process. Until now it has not been easy to locate a property. Scouts quietly advertised their book of business through their private accounts, limiting access to a select group. Now scouts, creators, and owners can list on FilmBook’s platform, receive the global exposure to expand their business, and protect the owner’s rights and privacy. FilmBook’s team guides the homeowner through the entire process. Scouts may assist as the owner’s representative or choose to receive a referral fee if their client’s property is selected, even if they are not the production scout.

Property owners are paid for their location to be captured for a virtual application. Productions license the use of the content for traditional B-roll as well as backplates to power LED stages. Studios work with Filmbook to create their own library of plates to feature at a moment's notice, providing a more cost-effective method to utilize their XR Stages and Volumes.
